Living in a Material World
Taking materiality at the starting point of the design process, ‘Living in a Material World’ re-evaluates our relationship with waste. Designed as acoustic wall panels for commercial interiors to diminish sound while creating a colourful and tactile environment where the user is encouraged to engage with the textiles. Absorptive and textural materials soften reverberation and dampen sound energy in a space. It is vital to keep these surplus materials in circulation to halt the harmful effects of their disposal.

This project re-evaluated our relationship with waste, working from a set of principles and design constraints that are driven by a desire to balance out our impacts on the planet.
