LIVING IN A MATERIAL WORLD
Taking materiality as the starting point of the design process Living in a Material World regenerates post-industry waste, pursuing relevant applications across structural textile design. With the waste material at the core of the design process the application of the research and making is not pre-determined but developed through extensive sampling to test the material properties. By turning discard into desire this collection is designed for the circular economy with an interior focus. Today's waste is tomorrows materials and that there should be no such thing as waste.
This project re-evaluated our relationship with waste, working from a set of principles and design constraints that are driven by a desire to balance out our impacts on the planet.
